Sale force is a CRM software fully build on cloud as SaaS service model.

Lead: First we go to mall take our phone number  and other details , business people get the details if client try to contact to business people and vice versa and they are interested to each other then its converted to opportunity.
Now Opportunity have different phase. Then its go to account and account contain number of contact.
